Snarky Puppy & Metropole Orkest - Sylva
Album Playback in 360º spatial audio
Sylva marked a bold departure for Snarky Puppy. The first time the Texas-born collective brought its adventurous, genre-blurring sound into direct collaboration with a full orchestra. Recorded live with the Netherlands’ Metropole Orkest, the album paired the band’s improvisational energy with the Orkest’s cinematic scope, built into six movements each inspired by a different forest League had encountered, from Portugal’s mountain woods to the towering Redwoods.
Released in 2015, the album was a critical triumph, going on to win the Grammy for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album, one of five Grammys the band has earned across their career. Painting vivid, outward-looking portraits of the natural world, Sylva stands as one of the most ambitious meetings of jazz and orchestral music in recent memory.
Now, we invite you to experience the full album from start to finish, at the Polygon Portal in 360º spatial audio. Every string swell, every horn section, every improvised turn surrounds you completely.
Sylva, growing in every direction around you.
