Robert Fripp has spent six decades at the edges of what guitar and recorded sound can do. Collaborator to David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, and David Sylvian. Co-architect of the ambient music movement. Founder of Guitar Craft. And, with King Crimson, one of the most restlessly inventive forces in rock history.
Exposure, his 1979 debut solo album, was hailed by The Wire as “the Sergeant Pepper of avant punk.” A pivotal, personal record – and one that has rarely been heard the way it deserves.
At Polygon Portal, Exposure plays in full in immersive spatial audio, as a celebration of Robert Fripp’s 80th birthday year. The spatial mix exists otherwise only inside his 32-disc Exposures boxed set – making this a rare opportunity to hear it outside of that release.
Start to finish. The way it was always meant to be felt.
Event Information
Arrival Times / Doors
Please arrive 30 minutes before your show. You will be taken to the 1st floor where a secret Soho bar will be awaiting you. A bell will be rung 15 minutes before the show and you will be shown to your seats. The doors will be closed at the stated show time and the event will start 5 minutes later. Late entry is not permitted once the show has started.
Seating
There are cinema chairs and Togo chairs, it is first come first served so arrive early and sit where you want.
Sound System
It is a beautiful L-Acoustic 17.1.10 soundsystem. You will have 17 powerful speakers surrounding you, 10 speakers over your head supported by more subs, and 1 sub channel with four subs at the front of the room.
Additional Information
The bar serves drinks and there is a water fountain in the bar to fill up your own bottles.
