This New Noise - Album Listening Session in 360° audio + in person Q&A (11 JUNE)

Public Service Broadcasting make music like a transmission from another era – archival recordings, found footage, and documentary voices woven into driving electronic and post-rock compositions. Their work is a celebration of human endeavour, told through the sounds and stories of the 20th century.

At Polygon Portal, they present This New Noise – a celebration of the power of radio, written in recognition of the centenary of the BBC. Joining forces with the 88-piece BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jules Buckley, the performance was a standout moment at the 2022 BBC Proms, receiving five stars from The Telegraph who called it “a resonant, timely and ultimately touching show.”

In the Portal’s 360° spatial audio environment, the full weight of the orchestra surrounds you. Archive voices drift overhead. The band’s electronics move through the room. A piece built for broadcast – now heard the way it was always meant to be felt, from every direction at once.
