Exit Records

That Life & Radical Apathy - Double album listening session in 360° Spatial Audio + in-person Q&A.

Exit Records has spent over twenty years as one of the most respected independent labels across drum and bass, ambient and experimental music. Founded in 2003 by dBridge – a producer whose work has shaped the underground for over two decades – it’s the home of the Autonomic movement and a catalogue built on patience rather than trend-chasing. For one night at Polygon Portal, the label presents two albums from its roster – each a collaboration with dBridge.

That Life pairs dBridge with Madison Willing, a London composer whose work sits between contemporary classical and electronica. Her collaboration with him, Made in Silence, was described by The Wire as akin to the ocean-deep feelings of Jóhann Jóhannsson. Their new record is unreleased, and has only been performed live once – at the ICA.

Radical Apathy pairs dBridge with Joe Seven, whose debut Near/Far on Exit was praised for its cinematic arc and technoir dread. His work sits between dark ambient, electro and experimental electronic music, and draws directly on the Autonomic lineage that shaped the label.

At Polygon Portal, both records play in full, reimagined on one of the world’s best spatial audio systems. It’s the first time either album has been heard in its full spatial form. And both records lend themselves to this immersive listening environment.

Between playbacks, dBridge, Madison Willing and Joe Seven sit down together to talk about how the records were made, and what happens when you listen to them in this special room.

Two albums, start to finish, the way they were meant to be felt.
